Russell Crowe is set to return to the Roman Empire for a new film project in development titled The Last Druid. Crowe has already starred in the film Gladiator set in the Roman Empire and with this new project he will “awaken his inner warrior once again”.
The film will tell the story of a “Roman emperor who discovers an isolated Druidic stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. A peaceful Celtic elder (Crowe) must take up arms to protect his family and people from annihilation. Further casting is underway.”
It will be Eubank (Underwater, the signal) will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Phil Gawthorne. It looks like it will be another great role for Crowe to play.
Crowe will soon be seen at Sony Kraven the Hunter and historical drama Nuremberg.
