Marvel’s YOUR FRIEND NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN animated series reportedly delayed until 2025

It looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can enjoy Marvel’s next animated series Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

The series was supposed to premiere in November 2024, but according to a new report from The Cosmic Circusthe series has been delayed and won’t be released until 2025.

The report states: “We can report that our sources have informed us of a delay for the Marvel animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man until 2025. Sorry, Spidey fans!

“We are waiting for more information on this show, such as more details on when it will finally be released. Let’s hope the wait isn’t too long to see it on Disney+!”

The animation of the series is inspired by the Steve Ditko comic book style, and the series is set before 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, but with one notable key difference.

“Rather than going back to his house to see Tony Stark at his house, it’s none other than Norman Osborn chatting with his Aunt May when he walks in the door.

“And just as meeting Tony brought Peter into the spotlight more than the boy needed, Peter having Norman as his mentor sends his life on an unexpected trajectory that pits him against many unexpected characters in the Marvel Universe .”

The show’s head writer and showrunner, Jeff Trammellalso shared some insights into the series saying the crew can’t wait to create moments for kids just starting their Spider-Man journey.

At the same time, the scribe also gently prepares some older viewers not to rest on their laurels when it comes to the Web Slinger.

“I want to answer the cliché ‘expect the unexpected’. But, honestly, I think you can expect your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. That’s him, he’s wandering around New York. It’s not like a huge adventure intergalactic, it is him just like his roots.

“And there are a lot of things that I think we as a fan base understand at first glance. Like, “Oh yeah, I know it works, I know it’s part of the story.”

“It’s been really fun to delve into this. Well, maybe you don’t know everything. Or maybe there are some things where you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, I know that part. No surprises there.’

“And I’m really excited to delve into those things, because it’s really fun to be able to subvert those expectations when they’ve been built for so long.”

The voice cast of the series includes Hudson Thames (What if…?) as Peter Parker, Eugene Byrd (Spidey and his amazing friends, 8 miles) as Lonnie Lincoln, Song of Grace (Make fun of) in the role of Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) in the role of Otto Ottavio, Kari Wahlgren (FLCL, Rick and Morty) like Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, Pokemon Master Journeys: The Series) as Harry Osborn. Also includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil alongside Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Wittman/Magician.
