Paramount Network has released a new trailer forYellowstone Season 5 Part 2, and even if we know Kevin Costner he won’t be back for the final episodes of the season, John Dutton looms large in the trailer, and it’s as if the marketing team doesn’t want you to know that Costner isn’t returning.
I imagine they had already shot some scenes with Costner long before all the drama that led to him leaving the series, so he could appear in at least one episode before disappearing from the show.
The trailer offers some additional story information and teases of how things will play out over the course of these final episodes, and it looks pretty intense. The slogan reads: “Generations of blood have led to this.”
The film previews the narrative arcs of Kayce Dutton (Luca Grimes), Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) and more.
Yellowstone says the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Between shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect, the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders: a growing city, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.
This may not be the last time we see some of these characters as there is another spin-off series in development that will continue Beth and Rip’s story. I hope the series actually happens.
The second half of six episodes will debut on November 10, 2024.
