Davide Porto is teasing the final episode of the series Stranger things ahead of its fifth and final season, and calls it the “best” they “ever did.”
The Netflix sci-fi series is coming to an end, and Harbour, who played Jim Hopper throughout its run, approves of how the series will end.
“I can be very critical of this show,” Harbor said during a live taping of the show Happy Sad Confused podcast, noting that in Stranger things Season 5, Episode 8, “They Land the Plane and It’s the Best Episode They’ve Ever Done.”
He continued:
“At the end of this episode, as we were reading it – just us reading it – about halfway through, people started crying. Then in the last 20 minutes there was just uncontrollable crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp is my favorite.
Harbor said the emotion that overwhelmed the cast was “the fact that these kids were their childhood. They started the show when they were 11 and 12, and here we are reading [the finale].
It’s been 10 years and we look at that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful.
“It’s a really great episode and it’s a really great season. You guys are going to love it,” Harbor added.
THE Stranger things the cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Grappa, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Sadie SinkAND Maya Hawke.
Harbor had been asked about the Stranger things finale in 2023 and brought forward the final season.
“They’re great, as usual,” Harbor said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast about the scripts. “They keep outdoing themselves, these writers currently on strike called the Duffer Brothers.”
He later said: “This is also an incredible feat. I mean, the scenes and things in the scripts that we’ve seen are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.
Season 5 of Stranger things will arrive on Netflix in early 2025.
