Disney+ gave away Marvel Daredevil: Born Again series a spring start date of March 4, 2025. The launch date for the Hell’s Kitchen-based detective series was announced at New York Comic-Con over the weekend, where stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock aka Daredevil) e Vincenzo D’Onofrio (the villain Kingpin) surprised the attendees with an appearance.
The news came during the Marvel Fanfare con CB Cebulski panel, which featured series producer and Marvel Studios production and development executive Sana Amanat in conversation with Marvel Editor-in-Chief Cebulski. The discussion delved into Marvel’s long history of telling stories in New York and filming the first season of Marvel TV Daredevil: Born Again on site.
In addition to the series’ release date, Cox and D’Onofrio previewed a sneak peek of the highly anticipated drama.
After the cameo of blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Cox) in 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Homeenthusiasm for the return of the character after three seasons on Netflix Reckless concluded in 2018 has reached its peak. With an episode in nine parts, Born again follows Murdock’s quest for justice, spanning his daytime (and legal) efforts through his steadfast, nocturnal crime-fighting through his heightened abilities. Meanwhile, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political aspirations in the city. According to the show’s plot, “When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
The series is also the protagonist Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, with Ayelet Zurer AND Jon Bernthalreuniting some of the former cast and key characters of Reckless.
Dario Scardapane is the showrunner. The episodes are directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and David Boyd. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Chris Gary, Christopher Ord and Matthew Corman serve as executive producers, along with Benson & Moorhead, Amanat and Scardapane.
