Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan join Guy Ritchie’s Gangster series THE ASSOCIATE

Tom Hardy, Helen MirrenAND Pierce Brosnan they joined Guy Ritchiethe next gangster drama series The Partner for Paramount+.

The project was initially developed under the title The Donovansand it would have been a spin-off of the Showtime series Ray Donovanled by Liev Schreiber.

The project has since been reworked into an unrelated standalone series Ray Donovan franchising.

The series was previously said to follow “two generations of gangsters, the businesses they run, the complex relationships they weave, and the man they call on to solve their problem.”

With the most powerful clients in Europe, “The Donovans will see the family’s fortunes and reputation at risk, strange alliances develop and betrayals around every corner; and while the family may be London’s elite today, the nature of their business means there is no guarantee of what will happen tomorrow.”

The hour-long series hails from Showtime, MTV Studios and 101 Studios. Ronan Bennett (The best guy) is completely writing the series and Ritchie will direct. Both also serve as executive producers.
