An interview clip has resurfaced from last year’s New York Comic Con, where the British director attended Matthew Vaughn he claimed to have quit X-Men 3 (released in 2006) after the star of the franchise Halle Berry she was sent a fake script to entice her to sign.
The Oscar-winning actress had previously played the character of Storm in the hit series since its debut in 2000, including the original and sequels.
The daily mail The newspaper now reports that Berry responded to Vaughn’s accusation of cheating with an Instagram post, writing: “You never know the shady s— that goes on behind your back! Thank you Matthew Vaughn for bringing the darkness to the light.”
The daily mail reports that Vaughn claims a phony script was produced to lure Berry with an extended story arc for her character, and said, “I thought, if you’re going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress who plays Storm, I’m done.” ; I thought, I’m mincemeat… One of the main reasons I quit X-Men 3and this is a true story: Hollywood is really political and weird.
Berry appeared X-Men 3who acted together Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammar, Famke Janssen AND Elliot Page. Vaughn was replaced by Brett Ratner to direct the film, which grossed more than $460 million at the worldwide box office.
