The wild robot is a beautifully crafted animated film that left me absolutely speechless. It’s easily the best animated film I’ve seen this year. I even thought it was better than Pixar’s Inside Out 2, which I loved.l
The film not only offers stunning visual prowess, but also tells an original, powerful and emotional story that tugs at the heartstrings in a way I didn’t expect. There were several moments throughout the film that made me and other viewers cry.
The story follows Roz, a robot from the ROZZUM unit, who finds himself stranded on an uninhabited island and must learn to survive. The beauty of the narrative lies in how Roz, a machine, slowly builds relationships with the animals on the island and even becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned duck.
It’s a beautiful journey of self-discovery, highlighting the delicate balance between technology and nature and making you reflect on the deepest questions about life, connection, and what it means to be truly alive.
The writing in this film is exceptional, but what really takes it to another level is the stunning animation and art style.
Director Chris Sanders, who brought us other similar films How to train your dragon, The CroodsAND Lilo and Stitchhe really outdid himself here.
It captures the illustrative backgrounds and character designs beautifully, offering a visual style that feels nostalgic yet fresh. The style of The wild robot stands out for its intentional artistry, blending classical charm with modern sensibilities.
The director had previously explained that he was inspired by stories such as Bambi and talked about how he wanted to capture the look of illustrative backgrounds and character designs, which were lost with computerized imagery. He managed to pull it off for this film.
The voice cast is another aspect that elevates the film. Lupita Nyong’o voices Roz with a warmth and tenderness that humanizes the character.
Pedro Pasquale like Fink the fox, Catherine O’Hara as Pinktail the possum, and Bill Nighy as the Longneck Goose they all give exceptional performances that bring their characters to life in fantastic ways. Kit ConnorThe portrait of the Brightbill Duck is captivating.
The one that struck me the most The wild robot that’s how inspiring it is. When I left the theater I felt relieved and happy. It’s the kind of movie that makes you want to share it with everyone.
It’s one of those movies that I’m going to have to start dragging people to see. I love sharing great films with family and friends and this is a film worth going to the cinema to watch!
Movies like this remind me why I love going to the movies in the first place. There’s something magical about experiencing a story that moves you deeply, and this one is worth the trip to the theater.
