Two-time Emmy winner Julie Bowen she is best known for her television roles in programs such as Modern family, ER, AndAND Boston Lawyerbut he got his first big screen debut in Adam Sandler movie Happy Gilmore.
Now she’s back on set, 28 years later, for the long-awaited sequel. Happy Gilmore 2and it’s giving us an idea of how things are going.
During a recent interview with Collider, Bowen was asked if he had ever imagined Happy Gilmore 2 came to fruition, and she replied:
“I didn’t. I’m at the beginning of filming right now. In fact, I came to you from the set, so you’re welcome. I didn’t realize how many people were happy about it. We’re shooting, obviously, on the fields golf.
I can’t spoil anything. I can’t spoil all the guest stars or cameos featured. I can say that we are filming on golf courses with hundreds of extras and everyone is so excited. I thought, ‘Oh, wow, I didn’t know everyone was waiting for this.’ But now I get the feeling.”
When asked what it means to reunite with Sandler and Christopher McDonaldwho returned to play Happy Gilmore’s greatest enemy, Shooter McGavin, and what it was like revisiting her first film ever, Bowen said:
“It’s really weird. This isn’t a spoiler, but because there are flashbacks, they have to put me in my hair and clothes from back then, which aren’t my favorites.
It’s funny because they also manage to make me age, which I’ve never been able to do. I’m like, “Great, I can’t wait to see what it’s all about.” There’s a lot of really fun stuff. And see Adam [Sandler] and Chris [McDonald]and even some of the crew were the same.
Adams is a loyal and lovely person to work with, and loves bringing people along with him right from the start. Perry [Andelin Blake]our production designer, he’s been with him since Happy Gilmore, and he looks exactly the same.”
Kyle Newacheck (Murder mystery) is directing the sequel from a screenplay by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. There are no details yet on the film’s plot.
Sandler previously spoke about the film, saying, “We’re going to do it Happy GilmoreThank you. This is happening. We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey. We’ll start in a couple of weeks.
“It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to disappoint anyone. People have been asking me for this for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We’ve written our ass off. So many golfers are nice and will be a part of it.
Not all cameos have been revealed, but we know the musical artist Bad bunny it’s part of the Happy Gilmore 2 cast, along with the Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce, Margaret Qualley, Benny SafdieAND Nick Swardson.
