Trailer for the Disney+ sequel series WIZARDS BEYOND WAVERLY PLACE starring Selena Gomez

Disney+ has released a trailer for its upcoming sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Placewith returning stars Selena Gomez AND David Henriewho starred in the original, The Wizards of Waverly Place.

The trailer for the new series gives fans a glimpse into the antics of newcomer Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) will occur when Alex Russo (Gomez) leaves her with Justin (Henrie), begging her brother to help her train the child prodigy.

According to Alex, the “fate of the world” is in Billie’s hands, but before she can undertake a task like saving the wizarding world, she needs a talented older wizard to teach her the ropes, and a family to lift her back up despite all the mistakes she makes.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will debut on Disney Channel with two episodes airing October 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The first eight episodes will be available the following day on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand.

The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to live a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman, and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie home seeking help, Justin realizes he must brush up on his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his day-to-day responsibilities and safeguarding the future of Wizard World.

Jed Elinoff AND Scott Thomas will serve as writers and executive producers, alongside executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez and Henrie. Andy Fickman directed and executive produced the pilot and will direct several episodes. The Wizards of Waverly Place was created by Todd Greenwald.
