Hulu has released the trailer for its upcoming horror film Huluween Mr. Crockettabout a seemingly sweet children’s show host who turns demonic. Sounds like a fun horror movie!
The film is set in 1993 and the story follows a mysterious children’s program host, Mr. Crocket, who “magically emerges from television sets to kidnap young children, brutally murdering their parents.”
“After Mr. Crocket kidnaps her son, a determined mother embarks on a dangerous quest to track down the demonic entertainer and save her son.”
The film is directed by Brandon Spy from a script he wrote with Charles Reid. Mr. Crockett is based on the 2022 short film of the same name, written and directed by Espy for Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween.
The movie stars Jerrika Hinton, Elvis Nolasco, Ayden Gavin, Kristolyn LloydAND Alex Aquino star. Its world premiere is scheduled for next week at Fantastic Fest.
The film “impressed the Fantastic Fest programming team with scenes reminiscent of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise and the tone of TALES FROM THE HOOD. Espy’s directorial debut is a fun, nightmarish slasher with a real emotional core.
“Elvis Nolasco’s performance as the titular villain, Mr. Crocket, alternates between charming host and sociopathic killer. A terrifying mashup of Freddy Krueger and Mr. Rogers, he owns the frame every time he appears on screen as a charismatic, demented personality who will enrapture you as much as the children he kidnaps.

The original horror film will debut on Hulu on October 11, 2024.
