SUPERGIRL: THE WOMAN OF TOMORROW: Matthias Schoenaerts reportedly in talks to play the main villain

A new report has emerged for DC Studios Supergirl: The Woman of the Future claiming that The Old Guard actor Matthias Schoenaerts is in talks to play the villain in the film, Krem of the Yellow Hills.

The news comes from scooper MTTSHand if it’s true the actor will join House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock in the film, who will play Supergirl.

In By Tom King In the Supergirl comic series, Krem is a ruthless gentleman of the King responsible for the murder of Ruthye Marye Knoll’s father and the wrath of Kara Zor-El for putting an arrow in Krypto.

It was previously explained that the film is “based on King TomThe “Super Girl” comic series that came out just last year… This is a very different kind of Super Girl.”

In this film, “we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was a baby, and the super girl who was raised on a sliver of rock on Krypton and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth as a young girl and is much more hardcore. That’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”

In that King comic book story: “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but now she finds her life has no meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a newborn cousin who ultimately no longer needed her. What was it all for?”

Everywhere she goes, “people see her only through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out on a cruel mission. Her world has been destroyed and the bad guys responsible are still out there.”

She wants revenge, “and if Supergirl won’t help her, she will do it herself, no matter the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog and an angry, heartbroken child set off into space on a journey that will shake them to the core.”

Craig Gillespie (Cruella AND I, Tonya) is set to direct the film, Ana Nogueira is writing the script and James Gunn is producing.

Woman of Tomorrow It will be the second DCU film to be released in theaters after Gunn’s SupermanWarner Bros. recently announced that the film is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
