Netflix has announced the renewal of the fifth season of its series Emily in Parisfollowing the premiere of the second part of season 4 last week on September 12. The fourth season, which was split into two parts, sees Emily (Lily Collins) begin a romance with a charming Italian fashion executive and then move to Italy to open an office in Rome for Agence Grateau.
The season five announcement showed a teaser of Emily sitting on a rooftop terrace in Rome sipping an espresso, saying “There’s no place like Rome,” with a wink. The show’s creator Darren’s Star confirmed to Deadline last week that the Rome connection will continue in season five.
Talking about the upcoming season 5 on Good morning AmericaCollins said she couldn’t wait to see what happens between her character and her fashion executive love interest, Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini.
“Marcello is a whole different adventure that we want for Emily because ultimately we want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance,” he said. “We want Emily to be able to smile unconditionally. We want to see her beyond her vacation mode. And he comes in at that perfect time.”
