A new report has emerged claiming that Marvel Studios is developing a solo Scarlet Witch movie. It was reported almost a year ago that WandaVision AND Agatha for life producer and writer, Jac Schaefferwas supposed to write and direct the film.
Today, we learn from Production Weekly that Schaeffer is, at least, still a writer on the project and is working on the script with Megan McDonnell (Captain Marvel).
The last time we saw Scarlet Witch was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhen See went on a multiverse killing spree. She seemingly died at the end of the film by destroying every copy of the Darkhold and causing a mountain to collapse on itself.
I imagine we’ll see her again in the Vision series and that whatever happens in that series could lead to a solo movie, but that’s just my speculation.
Elizabeth Olsen She recently said that she would be happy to return to the character again, stating: “It’s a character that I love to return to when there’s a way to use it well, and I think I was lucky because when I first started out I was used well.
“I think for a second people didn’t know what to do with me… if there’s a good way to use it, I’m always happy to come back.”
That comment came after several interviews where she said she was ready to move on and would be fine not playing the character anymore. With this change in tone that we are seeing now, it is very likely that she was approached by Marvel to return because they have a plan in place to continue her story.
