Creepy alternate design for the Xenomorph hybrid creature in ALIEN: ROMULUS

At the end of Alien: RomulusAfter a brutal fight for survival, a pregnant and dying Kay injects herself with the Prometheus 5 formula to stay alive.

This ultimately results in the birth of a human/alien xenomorph hybrid that is absolutely terrifying. This creature was called “The Offspring” in the credits and was a true monstrosity.

Director Faith Alvarez revealed that the studio initially had some reservations about this, saying: “They did [push back] at the start [with regard to the Offspring]but not because he didn’t like it.

“They were like, ‘Is this too much? Do we really have to go there?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, now that you said we shouldn’t, I know I’m going to do it.’ So that’s exactly what we did here. If you’re given an Alien movie by a company that’s owned by Disney and they immediately say, ‘Yeah, let’s do it,’ then you’re failing in some way. So we really pushed ourselves to the limit, and I’m glad we did.”

Now, thanks to @coldesign_ltd, some concept art from the film has surfaced that shows some disturbing alternate designs for the Offspring that are very different from what we saw in the film.

While these designs have their own level of creepiness, I definitely prefer the one used in the movie!

The artist said: “During #AlienRomulus @fedalvar encouraged us all to try the hybrid. I don’t do much creature work, but I tried the nomad sculpt. I know Fede really liked that stuff, it was a lot of fun”

Check out the artwork below and let us know what you think of the design!
