GKids has released the official US trailer for the acclaimed Japanese anime film The colors insidewhich comes from the director Naoko Yamada (A silent voice AND Liz and the Blue Bird).
The film centers on Totsuko, a high school student with the ability to see the “colors” of others. “Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus one color that she considers her favorite.
“Kimi, a classmate at her school, radiates the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a remote corner of town.
“As they practice in an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, creating friendships and sparking affection. Will they discover their true ‘colors’?”
It looks like a delight, a vibrant film that is worth watching, especially for those who watch anime. The film comes from the animation studios SARU Scienceand the voice cast includes Takaishi, Sayu Suzukawa, The Taisei KidoAND Yui Aragaki.
This film premiered at the 2024 Annecy Film Festival to rave reviews, and while it has already been released in Japan, it will not be released in the US until later this year. Check out the trailer!
