Weekly World News has launched a film studio. The first film on their slate to be released is titled The Zombie Weddingand the trailer has been released.
The Zombie Wedding tells the story of “what happens when a young couple from New Jersey decide to have the wedding of their dreams, during the Zombie Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the bride is a human and the groom is a zombie.
“Both families are scared, but the humans’ behavior is downright bestial. When the Zombies are deprived of their brains, the ceremony takes a strange turn. The Weekly World News reporters cover this wild and wacky wedding, while trying to get out alive!”
The film was directed by Micah Khan from a screenplay written by Greg D’Alessandro. The Zombie Wedding It was produced by D’Alessandro, Joe Corcoran, Sue Wolf, Mary Hood AND Jeff Mazzola.
The cast includes Dear Oteri (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), Seth Gilliam (WALKING DEAD), Erica Matarazzo (SCREAM, PRINCESS DIARIES), Kevin Chamberlin (Jessie_ …), Siobhan Fallon Hogan (MEN IN BLACK), Vincent Shepherd (THE SOPRANOS), Ajay Naidu (OFFICE SPACE), Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, and with Deepti Menon AND Donald Chang like the spouses.
D’Alessandro said in a statement: “We are thrilled to release our first film with Freestyle Digital Media, and with the enthusiastic support of the wonderful people of Vineland, NJ (and Bat Boy), we have made a fun, family-friendly film that speaks to our times and the need to celebrate our differences as we embrace this crazy, wonderful world.

Freestyle has been scheduled for a limited theatrical and VOD release on September 13, 2024.
