Some preview photos have been released for Ron Howardthe next survival thriller movie Edenwhich has as protagonists Judas Law, Ana De Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Sydney’s WorldAND Daniel Bruhl.
The film is based on “an unsolved mystery that unfolds on a remote Galapagos island, the film explores the lengths to which humans are willing to go to achieve happiness.”
It is inspired by two different accounts of the same true story and the film is described as “a darkly comic tale of murder and survival, set around a group of eclectic characters who abandon civilization for the Galapagos.
They are all looking for the answer to that ever-increasing question that plagues us all: what is the meaning of life.”
The film is set in the 1930s and investigates “a nearly century-old mystery by dropping a group of decorated actors onto an uninhabited island and seeing what happens.”
Howard has wanted to tell this story for 15 years. He was inspired to do so after his first visit to the Galapagos Islands, where the real-life events took place. The film will explore “the human condition in unexpected, absurd, funny, sexy, but most of all emotional and deeply suspenseful ways.”
The director told Vanity Fair, “What was chilling about this story is that a handful of people went there and half of them died or disappeared, and it’s intense. It’s like a season of ‘Survivor’ where people really don’t make it.”
