Sylvester Stallone recently revealed that he is writing a Rocky prequel film, and teased the story by comparing it to the classic Disney animated film Lady and the Tramp.
The story would revolve around teenage versions of Rocky and Adrian and could prove to be a cute story.
Stallone spoke about the project while guesting on the Inspire Me podcast, saying, “The Rocky prequel is very near and dear to my heart. I’ve written a few pages of it and it seems to write itself.
He continued: “Seeing Adrian at 15, Rocky at 17, Paulie moving to a new neighborhood. Rocky is your bad boy. It’s almost like Lady and the Trampbut with real people. It will be wonderful.”
Adrian was played by County of Talia in the original films, while Paulie, Adrian’s older brother and Rocky’s best friend, was played by Burt Young.
So the events of this prequel movie will take place about ten years before the events of the original movie. I actually agree, and it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.
I hope Stallone can make this movie! Stallone wrote all six Rocky films and directed four of them.
