GKids has released another trailer for the beautiful anime film titled Looking backwhich is based on the acclaimed one-shot manga by The man with the chainsaw‘S Tatsuki Fujimoto.
This movie tells the story of the characters Kyomoto and Fujuno, two rivals who become friends and are united by their love and passion for manga drawing. It seems like a very sweet and touching story.
In the film, the popular and outgoing Fujino is celebrated by her classmates for her amusing comics in the class newspaper. One day, her teacher asks her to share class with Kyomoto, a sailor recluse whose beautiful art ignites a competitive fervor in Fujino.
“What starts out as jealousy turns into a life of love when Fujino realizes their shared passion for drawing. A heartbreaking and impactful coming-of-age story.”
Looking back is directed by Master Kiyotaka Oshiyamawho was part of the animation team of Studio Ghibli titles such as The boy and the heron, the wind risesAND Arrietty.
The film is scheduled for release in US theaters on October 4, 2024 and I can’t wait to see it.
