ALIEN: ROMULUS VFX Artist Teases Sigourney Weaver’s Easter Egg – “Once You See It, You Can’t Unsee It”

Last week, the director Faith Alvarez revealed that there are Easter eggs hidden in Alien: Romulus which are connected to by Sigourney Weaver Ellen Ripley. She also said they are “in plain sight.”

Some fans think they’ve found it, and the film’s visual effects supervisor Daniel Maccarino He also previewed what it is about and said that “once you see it, you can’t unsee it.”

An AVPGalaxy.net user claims that a Starcub-class cruiser has been spotted moving away from Renaissance Station.

The user also points out that later in the film, during the scene where Kay (Isabella Merced) is locked in a room with a Xenomorph and Rain (Cailee Spaeny) is begging Andy (David Johnson) to unlock the door, in the background you can see Ripley’s Narcissus shuttle docked.

So, that means that when the Weyland-Yutani team picked up the ejected alien at the beginning of Alien: RomulusThey also recovered Ripley and Jones and kept them aboard the Romulus for some time.

I personally haven’t seen them yet, but I’ll look for them next time I watch the movie.

During an interview with CinemaBlend, Macaron was asked about the presence of Ripley’s stasis pod, and he replied:

“We’ve done a huge amount of references. Whenever we get asked to do Easter eggs, it’s always a lot of fun. The hard part is not to make something too obvious and not to take away from the story.

“So a lot of times it’s like, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be fun if we did this?’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, but you’re going to lose the shot.’ I don’t want to put something in there that the audience is going to be like, ‘Oh look, there it is.’

“And then people start to speculate about that. They’re thinking about it. So with the (Ripley’s) ship, if you make it really small, it’s fine. And you have people who’ve been there two or three times and they start to notice those extra details, they might see them and it’s fine.

“But each Easter egg has to be done in a very particular way so that it doesn’t take away from the story. You’re giving it to the fans who are seeing it multiple times in theaters and you’re giving them something to wonder about later. … But once you see it, you can’t unsee it.”

While watching the movie, did you notice any of these things connected to Ripley?
