Mondo has released a beautiful print of the classic 1959 Disney animated film Sleeping BeautyThe artwork was created by artist Eva Vilhelmiina and was initially made available as a limited edition print at the D23 Expo.
Although the poster is sold out, I wanted to share it here for you to see. The artist shared the following information about the print:
“I illustrated this Sleeping Beauty poster for @mondonews and it will be available as a limited edition screenprint at D23. I’m so grateful for the art direction of @jlmanderville and @consumedesign who created the beautiful typography.
“I have long been an admirer of Eyvind Earle’s art and there are many echoes of his influence in my work. His contribution to Sleeping Beauty will surely continue to inspire others as well.
“Not only that, but I think Sleeping Beauty has some of the most iconic villain designs, and the artists deserve credit: Maleficent was designed by Marc Davis and the dragon form was created by Ken Anderson.
“It was really fun drawing Maleficent the dragon like this, it has to be one of my favorite dragon drawings ever.”
Maleficent the dragon is without a doubt one of the coolest Disney villains ever and is perfectly captured in this poster.
