Wes’s Ballthe director of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and the Maze Runner film, is set to direct a film adaptation of Reikon’s hit video game Ruiner for Universal Pictures.
Ruiner is an action shooter set in the year 2091 in the cyber metropolis of Rengkok. The game follows “a wired psychopath who battles against a corrupt system to uncover the truth and recover his kidnapped brother.
“Under the guidance of a mysterious hacker, he battles through a world of brutal violence and cutting-edge technology, drawing ever closer to the dark secrets hidden in the city’s neon-lit streets.”
It looks like it will be a big project for Ball, who will direct from a script written by Author: Michael Arlen Ross (Blocked).
The film will be produced by Kelly McCormick AND David Leitch (The Fall Guy, Bullet Train AND Nobody). They also produce the team behind Tomb Raider for Amazon MGM Studios and Netflix and Paramount Sonic the Hedgehog, Dimitri M. Johnson AND Mike Goldberg.
