The spin-off movie Community: The Movie has been in the works for a long time. It’s been slowly moving forward, steadily moving toward production, and we have another casting confirmation from a returning star to help keep us on track.
Yvette Nicole Brownwho played Shirley Bennett in the six-season series Community It has always been assumed that Run would return, but the actress has not yet commented on the project.
In a recent interview with Parade, Brown said, “We don’t know when, but I’m on board. And that could be a scoop because it hasn’t been confirmed for a long time.”
While Brown’s co-star Donald’s Glover Left Community forever during the show’s fifth season, Brown herself did not return as a series regular for season six, but appeared in the season premiere and finale. It will be great to see the whole gang (plus Chevrolet Huntwho had left on bad terms with his colleagues) reunite for the film.
Returning cast members include Joel McHale, Donald’s Glover, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Julia Jacob, Jim Rash, My Friend Ken JeongAND Yvette Nicole Brown.
