Concept Art Reveals Alternate Designs for Henry Cavill’s Wolverine in DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE

Here’s another piece of concept art for Deadpool and Wolverine and this reveals some alternate designs for Henry CavillWolverine, aka The Cavillrine, cameo.

The artwork was shared by concept artist Wesley Burt on X, who said, “It was a lot of fun when I stumbled upon it to do some concept art on, more on that in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine artbook.”

This was a fun cameo, one that fans would have liked to see more of. So, it’s nice that Cavill actually agreed to do it!

Director by Shawn Levi previously spoke out about former Superman actor Henry Cavill, saying the actor got sick because he had to smoke Wolverine’s cigar… all day on set.

The director said, “He kept that cigar lit and in his mouth for the entire day of shooting. I remember hearing the next day that Henry was nauseous because he had been inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours straight, but he never faltered.”

Levy also addressed Cavill’s cameo in Wolverine in another interview with Variety, saying, “If we’re going to talk about him, we have to call him by his real credited name, Cavill, which Ryan coined.

“I knew it was undeniable as soon as Ryan came up with that term. He said ‘yes’ right away because he knew it would be subversive and playful.

“I also did it out of great affection for him and his work, and playing with his legacy as a DC hero now that he appears as a variant of a Marvel hero.”
