Lionsgate has released the trailer for its upcoming rideshare kidnapping thriller Amber Alertwhich has as protagonists Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Scream VI) AND My Friend Tyler James Williams (The Walking Dead).
In the film, a routine rideshare turns into a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse when Jaq (Pannettiere) and Shane (Williams) receive a child abduction alert on their phones.
“Quickly realizing they are behind a car matching the kidnappers’ description, Jaq and Shane race desperately against time to save the boy’s life.”

The film was directed by Kerry Bellessa (Immanence) from a screenplay written by Kerry Bellessa and Joshua Oram.
It’s nice to see Panettiere back at work. She’s back on screen after reprising her fan-favorite character, Kirby Reed, in Scream IV. She also appeared in the horror game Until Dawn, with a remaster currently coming this fall.
Amber Alert will be released in theaters and digitally on September 27, 2024.
