A new fantastic video for Alien: Romulus A twelve-minute behind-the-scenes footage shot on set during production has surfaced.
The film focuses primarily on the film’s practical effects, created and used to bring this sci-fi horror story to life.
Alien: Romulus is set between the events of Alien AND Aliensand follows a “group of young people on a distant world who find themselves confronted by the most terrifying life form in the universe.”
The movie stars Cailee Spaenywho had previously spoken about the film’s practical effects, saying: “We used practical effects. We had the same people who worked on AliensThey’re back.
“They were there creating the xenomorph. This is a creature that they have so much love for. We had puppeteers working on the face-hugger. So, seeing that… it all felt so alive.”
“I had to turn off my nerdy brain, because I was just like, ‘Wow, this is beautiful. Oh, you put Giger’s skull in there…’ I had to turn it off. But it was really scary.
“We set it between the first and second movies. We were talking about, ‘How can this be the child of two?’ So we have those intense moments, but then it’s a real horror.”
The film also starsIsabella Merced, Archie Renaux (Shadow and bone), Spike Fear (After sun), and the new arrival Aileen Wu.
Faith Alvarez is directing from a script he wrote with Rodo Sayagues. Ridley Scott he is also a producer of the film together with Michael Pruss (Boston Strangler) for Scott Free, with Brent O’Connor (Bullet Train), Elizabeth Cantillon (Persuasion) AND Tom Moran (The King of Donuts) as executive producers.
Alien: Romulus will hit theaters on August 16, 2024.
