Channing Tatum Hopes and Prays DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE Lead to Solo GAMBIT Movie

After finally being able to play Gambit in Deadpool and Wolverine, My First Encounter with Channing Tatum hope and pray this leads to a Gambit solo movie.

Variety recently asked the actor if there was a chance that could happen, to which he replied, “I sure hope so. From your mouth to God’s ears. Write it into existence, my friend. Please.”

He goes on to say that this is a project he still longs to see realized and has spoken to Marvel Studios about.

He said, ‘Of course I said that. I’ve said that I want it for the last 10 years. It’s in Bob Iger AND by Kevin Feige hands. I pray to God.”

Tatum thanked My name is Ryan Reynolds. in an Instagram post about the opportunity to play Gambit, saying, “I thought I had lost Gambit forever,” but Reynolds “fought for me and Gambit.”

She also wrote: “I’ll probably be in his debt forever. Because I don’t know how I could ever do anything that would match what this has meant to me. Love you, man.”

Tatum also praised Deadpool and Wolverine director by Shawn Levi as “a brilliant creator on every single level.”

He added: “Everything happens for a reason. I’m so grateful to be in this movie. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. And just pure badass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater. LFG!!”

The big question is, will Tatum ever get his own Gambit solo movie? There’s definitely an opportunity for that, but I’d be surprised if Marvel and Disney actually did it because I don’t think they will.

Reynolds had to fight to get Gambit to appear in the film and, despite being a fan favorite, it seems that Gambit’s appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine it’s a done and finished thing. I hope I’m wrong, though. What do you think?
