The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will include another one J.R.R. TolkienThe creations of Middle-earth… The Ents. We got our first look at these characters in the latest trailer released.
During a recent interview with SFX magazine, the creator and showrunner of the series Patrick McKay previews the Ents in the new season of Rings of Power and the role they will have in the story.
McKay said: “This season, we have an incredible sequence involving the character of Arondir. [Ismael Cruz Córdova] halfway through the season, where he will uncover a mystery that will lead him to a very surprising encounter with a pair of Ents.
“They are the shepherds of the forest, who are walking, talking trees. Ents are something we know to exist in Middle-earth, but we have never seen a pair of Ents, including an Ent wife.
“This is an example of something that apparently isn’t a moment that fans expected or expected to happen on the road to the Battle of Eregion.
“There are a lot of moments in between that hopefully are just as delightful, or maybe even more surprising. But that’s the beauty of it all, right? In Middle-earth, you never know what you’re going to get.”
I can’t wait to see the next season! I just finished rewatching the first season, and it’s such a good show! I love how they’re playing in this world and the story they’re telling with these characters.
The series is set “thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’S The Hobbit AND The Lord of the Ringsand will take viewers back to a time when great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest thread, and the greatest villain Tolkien had ever created threatened to plunge the entire world into darkness.
“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.
“From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the Elven capital of Lindon, to the extraordinary island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest corners of the map, these kingdoms and characters will leave a legacy that will live on long after they are gone.”
In season two, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without an army or allies, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.

The Rings of Power Season 2 will debut on Prime Video on August 29.
