It looks like a live-action movie Voltron film may actually move forward at Amazon MGM Studios. According to The Insneider, the film has been greenlit and casting will begin in the coming months.
Mr. Rawson Marshall Thurberthe director of Red alert, skyscraper, AND Central Intelligenceis set to direct the film. Thurber created the story and will also co-write the screenplay with Ellen Shanman.
This movie has been long awaited, and as a longtime Voltron fan, I hope the creative team does something grand and epic with it. If done right, it should be a visually stunning cinematic experience.
I have this movie in my head and knowing Hollywood, it will not live up to the expectations I have created in my imagination. Good luck to the creative team in trying to wow audiences with this!
Voltron: Defender of the Universe follows five young pilots from a battalion called the Robot Lions, vehicles that unite to form a mega robot known as Voltron.
Together they fight against Emperor Zarkon, the cruel leader of the Galra Empire, who has been searching the universe for the Voltron lions for over 10,000 years.
Todd Lieberman AND David Hoberman they are producing with Bob Coppithe head of World Events Productions, the company that controls the Voltron property.
