Dave Bautista is in negotiations to play Kratos in the upcoming God of War television series. Actor Ryan Hurst was originally cast as the god of war, but he suffered a serious injury and withdrew from filming. Because Hurst's recovery would take too much time, producers decided to recast the role.
Deadline reported that Bautista, who starred in Guardians of the Galaxy and other films, is in talks to replace Hurst. If negotiations are successful, filming will resume and start from scratch in the autumn.
Series Details and Production
The release date for the new project is not yet known. The upcoming show will adapt the Scandinavian adventures of Kratos and Atreus from the 2018 video game God of War and God of War Ragnarok. Ronald D. Moore, creator of Battlestar Galactica and For All Mankind, serves as the creator of the series.
