AGATHA ALL ALONG Actor Joe Locke Says Series Is Like THE GOONIES

With less than two months to go until the release of Marvel’s live-action Disney+ series, Agatha for lifeWhich WandaVision spin-off series that focuses on Author: Kathryn Hahnthe character of Agatha Harkness.

She joins him Patti LuPoneThe Lilia, Sasheer ZamataI’m Jennifer, Debra Jo RuppSharon, and Ali AhnaAlice, as well as the characters played by Joe Locke, Mary Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili AND Aubrey Square.

In the series, Agatha Harkness finds herself “low and powerless” after a suspicious goth teenager helps her break free from a twisted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical challenge of trials that, if passed, rewards a witch with what she lacks.

“Together, Agatha and this mysterious teenager form a desperate group and set out on a journey down, down, down the Road…”

When asked about the trip during a recent interview with Empire, showrunner Jac Schaeffer and star Joe Locke, who plays the teenager, told a story of Schaeffer sharing photos from the set of The Witches’ Road with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Locke recalled:

“Jac sent Kevin Feige a picture from the set of Witches’ Road and he was like, ‘Oh my God, we’re doing The Goonies‘. That’s what I was saying: that we were making this adventure series.”

Locke revealed that the Agatha for life The script refers to him only as “Teen,” but there have been multiple reports suggesting he’s Scarlet Witch’s teenage son, Billy, aka Wiccan from the Young Avengers. Despite the mystery surrounding his character, Locke has given other hints about how he’ll interact with Agatha.

“He’s a familiar; he’s like the assistant to the coven. Teen is a huge fan of witchcraft and witches, so for him to be taken under the wing of Agatha Harkness and form a coven and go down the Witches’ Road is his dream. He’s a fanboy and in his element. Which is really funny, because I was [too]!”

I can’t wait to see this series! I love the world created in WandaVision and I can’t wait to explore this dark side of the story. Marvel Television’s Agatha for life will debut September 18 at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET, with the first two episodes, exclusively on Disney+.
