Animated Film THE WILD ROBOT Gets Fantastic New Special: “A Wild Vision”

Universal Pictures has released a new behind-the-scenes special for DreamWorks Animation’s fantastical animated film The Wild RobotI was really looking forward to seeing this movie because it looks like it will offer a strong and moving story.

The video provides further insight into the story along with some stunning footage from the film. The cast and crew of the film also discuss the story and the characters they play.

The epic sci-fi adventure story “follows the journey of a robot, ROZZUM unit 7134, ‘Roz’ for short, who is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh environment, gradually building relationships with the island’s animals and becoming a foster parent to an orphaned duck.”

The film tells a powerful story of “self-discovery, a thrilling examination of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.”

The Wild Robot It is written and directed by Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon, The CroodsAND Lilo and Stitch). He explained that he was inspired by stories like Baby and talked about how he wanted to capture the look of the illustrative backgrounds and character designs, which have been lost with computer-generated imagery.

The Wild Robot stars Lupita Nyong’o (We, Black Panther) like the robot Roz; Peter Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian) like the fox Fink; Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek, the best on display) like the Pinktail Possum; The countdown (To live, to truly love) like the long-necked goose; Kit Connor (Heartstopper, Rocketman) like the Brightbill duck and Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, The Capt Guy) as Vontra, a robot who will interact with Roz’s life on the island.

The film also features the vocal talents of Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchising), Matt Berry (What we do in the shadows) AND Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible, Pulp Fiction).

Universal to debut Sanders The Wild Robot in theaters on September 20, 2024.
