The boys creator and showrunner, Eric Kripke previews the series’ fifth and final season, saying it will include “the series’ version of an apocalypse.”
After the crazy season four finale, Kripke talked about what that ending means for the characters and also previewed what to expect from the next season.
Kripke said, “You know, I think the season four finale really shows that we’ve been planning for five years, because there’s no way a show can go on for another season after the events of that finale. As far as we’re concerned, it’s our show’s version of an apocalypse.”
If you haven’t watched the season 4 finale of The Boys yet, you might want to skip the next part as it contains some spoilers.
The events Kripke talks about involve Billy Butcher (Charles Urban) taking V and using the tentacles he had given him, to tear Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) in half. This happened after he had vowed to help Hughie (Jack Quaid) to take down Homelander (Anthony Starr).
In addition, after using the footage captured by the shape-shifting Supe in the underground bunker, Sage (Susanna Heyward) succeeded in having presidential candidate Robert Singer arrested for conspiring with The Boys to assassinate Neuman, thus swearing in Senator Calhoun.
Calhoun, who had already sided with Homelander, declared martial law and appointed Homelander and his army of Supes.
Season 5 is going to be really crazy!
