Christopher Reeve’s Son Had to Memorize a Line from James Gunn’s SUPERMAN, Says: ‘I Was Really Nervous Doing It’

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that the DC head and Superman director James Gunn had added It will be Reeveson of beloved Superman actor My Friend Christopher Reeve to the cast of his upcoming film. Will gave his first comments to TMZ about what it was like filming the cameo, and it sounds like it was a fun, if nerve-wracking, experience:

“I know the people who are making the movie and they were so kind to me and my family, and I had a free day, so we did it. [happen]. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say. It was a really cool experience; they were super friendly; it was quick, easy… I was actually more nervous doing it than I am when I’m on TV doing my normal job because there were so many people around and I had to memorize a line, but whatever!”

Will has a fair amount of experience in front of the camera. After an internship at Good morning America and graduating from Middlebury College, Will earned a spot on ESPN Sports Center and has been a correspondent for ABC News since 2018. But it probably seemed like there was a lot of emotion involved, and it makes sense that Reeve would be nervous. It’s going to be so cool to see him on screen in this movie! I’m glad he got to be a part of it.

The stars of the film David Corenswet like Clark Kent/Superman; Rachel Brosnahan like Lois Lane; Nicholas Hoult like Lex Luthor; Nathan’s son like Green Lantern; Isabella Merced like Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific; Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen; Maria Gabriella of Faria like Angela Spica, known as The Engineer; Sarah Sampaiolike Eve Teschmacher; and Terence Rosemore like Otis.

Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way of life, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as antiquated.”

Superman will launch the theatrical portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025.
