A stunning trailer has been released for the STARZ limited series Three womenstarring by Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Betty Gilpin (INCANDESCENT), DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World: Dominion), Gabrielle Creevy (In my skin), AND Blair Undergrowth (Gattaca, Agents of SHIELD).
The series is based on a true story told in detail in by Lisa Taddeo bestselling book of the same name, and was adapted by Chisa Hutchinson.
The eponymous series that “explores female desire” sees the three women on an accelerated journey to radically upend their lives. Lina (Gilpin), a housewife in suburban Indiana, has been married for a decade without passion when she embarks on a relationship that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life.
Sloane (Wise), a glamorous entrepreneur from the Northeast, is in an open and committed marriage to Richard (Underwood), until two sexy new strangers threaten their ambitious romance. Maggie (Creevy), a student from North Dakota, faces an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher (Jason Ralph) of an inappropriate affair.
Gia (Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, convinces each of these three spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories, and her relationships with them will forever change the course of her life.
“These three women had the audacity to believe they deserved more,” Gia says of Woodley in a voiceover. Then she goes on a solo road trip across the country and back, where she discovers what she didn’t know she was looking for: “these three women.” “I wanted to hear their stories myself, rather than tell them,” she says.
Laura Eason (The loudest voice, House of Cards) is the showrunner of the series, and Taddeo (coming soon) Animal) is the creator and executive producer. Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum also serve as executive producers.
Three women will debut Friday, September 13 at 10:00 PM ET/PT on linear TV and at midnight on the Starz app.
