Will Rogers Family Approves ‘Will To Win’;  Details Disclosed About the Project

Special: Details of a new movie project that first received approval from the family of early Hollywood icon Will Rogers have been revealed.

Kirkpatrick & Kinslow Productions has selected the book rights to Jim Stowall’s new novel. will winAnd he’s adapting it as the first movie approved by the Will Rogers family, including Life Rights.

A famous vaudeville singer of the early 20th century, Rogers was born a Cherokee citizen and became known as “Oklahoma’s favorite child.” By the mid-1930s, she was Hollywood’s highest paid star, but died in a plane crash that same decade.

The story involves Sky Forrest, who is devastated when Will Rogers stabs Hayes with a baseball, threatening his promise to the Cherokee family to win the championship and win a college scholarship before his death. The school board president is trying to revoke his last option: a step up for the boys’ baseball team. Using his vivid imagination, Sky assists Will Rogers as a spirit guide who helps him discover wisdom and his will to gain humor.

Kirkpatrick and Kinslow introduced producer Mark Heidelberger (Basement) co-produced the project, and Cherokee Nation member Aaron Fulkerson is adapting the screenplay for the book.

The project also purchased the government-owned Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Oklahoma. The photo will be taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the area where Rogers was born and the headquarters of the Cherokee Nation.

“Although we have been asked about film production many times in the past, this is the first time a family has supported a film project. Jennifer Rogers Echeverry, a Will Rogers family member and granddaughter, said: “We’re excited to see 20th century audiences learn about Will Rogers’ impact on the world.”

“Informing the family about the details of the movie is a critical and necessary step in ensuring the authenticity of this story,” said producer Ras Kirkpatrick.

The Project is Jim Stowell’s ninth book selected for the movie, his most popular ultimate giftWith the support of Fox.
