Ryan Reynolds initially didn’t know how a character like Deadpool would fit into the MCU

My name is Ryan Reynolds. has had a long and bumpy road with the Dead Pool film franchise over the years. It took a long time to actually make the first film, and after finding success with the first two films, Disney purchased 20th Century Fox and the future of the franchise became uncertain.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds said after the incident: “I didn’t know if I would ever play Deadpool again.”

Deadpool is a really crazy character and bringing this kind of character to Disney’s Marvel Studios made the actor question a few things.

Reynolds continued, “It’s not something I would necessarily say publicly, but I didn’t know how a character like that would fit into that world. [of the MCU].”

Reynolds privately pitched an idea to Marvel Kevin Feige to make a Deadpool movie with by Hugh Jackman Wolverine shortly after the acquisition, but Reynolds said it “wasn’t even possible” at the time.

Then Feige stepped in to explain: “I don’t want to get into the legal laws of corporate acquisitions or anything like that. I don’t understand them, but there are a lot of them.

“It took a long time between each time [the acquisition] it was announced that everything would be done, so [the characters] We didn’t really stay in our sandbox for very long after that first announcement was made.”

But, after some time and patience, Feige and Reynolds got together and figured it all out, and now we have a movie coming that looks like it’s going to be awesome!

Feige added: “The idea that, all these years later, we’re in a world where [Jackman] It’s Wolverine and Deadpool and all those X-Men characters together under one roof, it’s a really incredible quarter-century experience.”
