Speaking specifically about her training and physical appearance for the film, she said: “I’ve been training for a while now. We’ve got a couple of weeks left and I’ve got a wonderful trainer called Tim who is brilliant and he’s making me do all the things I don’t want to do.
He added: “We’re not aiming for anything too huge, physically, it just has to look the part, and we’re slowly getting there.”
When asked about reaching out to Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan about the character because they both played Johnny Storm, he said, “I haven’t reached out to them yet, maybe I should. It’s important to claim these opportunities as your own.
“I think they both did an incredible job and I’m absolutely aware of how much this role means to a lot of people and how well they played it.”
He continued: “I think it’s important to approach this with respect for the people who have played it before, but with the intention of making it your own.”
Quinn continued to gush about his co-star Ebony moss – Bachrachwho plays The thingsaying, “He’s an inherently funny guy. We’re going to have a rehearsal period, and it’s going to be an opportunity for all of us to work out the specific dynamics between the four of us and beyond.”
He then teases the relationship between The Human Torch and The Thing, saying, “I’m really excited to work with Ebon. I think he’s fantastic and he’s definitely going to bring something very unique to the role; the dynamic is the most important aspect of these four characters.
“I couldn’t think of three other actors who could bring as much energy and vitality to these other characters, and I’ll do my best to do the same.”
The actor then spoke about the teaser image released for the film and its 1960s setting, saying: “It was amazing! It was a really lovely way to announce it, it was really sweet and people reacted well to it.
“It’s a little surreal, obviously. I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that this stuff is something that people feel very strongly about.”
He continued: “People care about these characters, and what heroism means to people, and that it can provide some light in dark times, and also examples of how to behave, without trying to be too grand. It’s a responsibility that I’m taking very seriously, and we all are. And we’re going to have a lot of fun with it, too.”
The movie stars Peter Pascal (The Last of Us) like Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Discovery of Death) as Sue Storm, known as the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn (Stranger things) like Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch; and Ebony moss – Bachrach (The Punisher, The Bear) as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.
