Marvel has released a new image from Agata always that sees Kathryn Hahn reprising her role as the titular witch, Agatha Harkness.
In the series Agatha is joined by “a mishmash of disparate and mixed witches” and those witches include Patti Lu Poneit’s Lilia, Sasheer ZamataI’m Jennifer, Debra Jo Ruppit’s Sharon, and Ali AhnaAlice is.
Creator of the series Jeff Schaeffer offered some insight into these witches in an interview with Empire, saying, “What they have in common is that they are witches without a coven.”
She continued: “Witches are defined by deception, betrayal, evil and selfishness. What do you do when you have a group of witches who [demonstrate] those notions and you need them to work together?”
Well, I imagine a lot of chaos magic. Schaeffer continued to talk about the series saying: “[Where] WandaVision played with the form of classic television sitcoms, [here] we play a lot with the hypotheses we have about witches.
Schaeffer explains: “For example, what are shorthand images for witches? We certainly didn’t want a one-dimensional evil witch. We will have moments where we see Agatha’s true heart.
Agate is described as a “dark comedy” in the MCU. When we last saw Agatha, she attempted to take Wanda Maximoff’s magic for herself, and Wanda trapped her in the persona of “Agnes.”
The description for the first episode of the show reads: “In the first episode we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally manages to free herself from the spell she was trapped in.
“He can’t wait to go back to his old murderous ways only to find that he’s helpless. The only way out for her is to embark on a dangerous quest to regain her powers with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”
Hahn previously spoke about returning to play the character, saying, “I wish I could tell you anything. I can tell you it’s absolutely fabulous, I’ll say that, I was going to say fantastic, but then I decided to go with fabulous.”
She added: “It’s a fantastic cast. I’m in awe of everyone’s work on this show and I think people will be surprised. I’m not, I think they’ll think it’s one-sided and obviously it’s going to go a million different ways at some point. sense WandaVision.”
The series is also the protagonist Aubrey Square like Rio Vidal, and Sasheer Zamata plays Jennifer Kale. Joe Locke also appears on the show but is only listed as “Teen”.
The series will premiere on Disney+ this September. I imagine Marvel will show some footage from the series at Comic-Con next month.
