Disturbing clip from the 18th century horror film THE DEVIL’S BATH

Shudder has released a new clip from the upcoming Austrian horror drama film titled The Devil’s Bathwhose story is set in the 18th century. The clip offers a disturbing look at the harsh realities of life during that era.

In Austria in 1750, “a deeply religious woman named Agnes has just married her beloved, but her mind and heart soon become heavy as her life becomes a long list of chores and expectations.

“Day after day, she becomes increasingly trapped on a murky, lonely path that leads to evil thoughts, until the possibility of committing a shocking act of violence seems like the only way out of her inner prison.”

The woman faces a grim fate for a horrific crime. As Agnes prepares for her wedding, sinister forces stir, plunging her into darkness and despair.”

The film comes from directors Severin Fiala AND Veronika Franz (Goodnight Mom AND The Lodge) and it looks like they’ve made a chilling psychological horror film.
