Silicon Valley drama series in the works at AMC from Jonathan Glatzer

Joanna Glatzerwho has written and produced series including Succession AND Better call Saul, is writing an untitled drama series set in Silicon Valley, which has been given a production order by AMC Studios.

The show is “set in the bubble of Silicon Valley, amidst misguided corporate cultures, lunar innovation labs, and cutthroat private high schools.

“It centers on the rift between a self-proclaimed “inventor of the future” tech CEO and his egotistical “performance psychologist,” who are embroiled in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data.”

Glatzer was a producer for AMC Better call Saul, a supervising producer at HBO Succession and co-executive producer at Apple Bad Sisters.

Glatzer said of the project:

“The world of technology and the future it offers are in the hands of frighteningly self-centered people. They radiate a bizarre, almost divine energy, but even they cannot escape their own humanity.

“So rather than do something directly about the ‘technology,’ I wanted to focus on the people. And not just the titans, but the restless would-be titans, the kids and spouses of the wannabes; their housekeepers, their schools, their psychiatrists, their dogs and gurus, all of them living in this bubble where they truly, and perhaps rightly, believe they are inventing the future, dogs excluded.”
