Sarah Michelle Gellar (Wolfpack, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has signed on to appear in the next Right prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin.
Geller will have a guest star role and will play a character called Tanya Martin. She is the Chief of CSI at the Miami Metro Police Department and Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson) new boss.
The series is set in Miami in 1991 and follows Dexter, “a student who is honing his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater).
“In his father he finds comfort and understanding, especially when his bloodlust grows and can no longer be ignored.
“As his sole confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to die, all while avoiding detection by law enforcement.
“This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship with the Miami Metro Police Department.”
Nina L. DiazPresident of Content and Chief Creative Officer of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, said of the casting: “Sarah Michelle Gellar is a pop culture icon who perfectly complements our world-class cast with Christian Slater and Patrick Dempsey among others.
“We are thrilled to see her return to the Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios family and join the origin story of the Right franchising”.
The cast also includes Molly Brown, James Martinez, Cristina Milian, Reno Wilson, Alex Shimizu AND Patrick Dempsey.
The series is currently filming in Miami with Clyde Phillips at the helm.
