Focus Features and Universal Pictures International have set the theatrical release for September 12, 2025 Downton Abbey 3 which is currently filming in the UK under the director’s direction Simone Curtis. Curtis directed the previous chapter, Downton Abbey: a new era.
The third film of the Downton the franchise is written by Downton creator and Oscar winner Julian Fellowes.
The film is produced by BAFTA and Emmy winner Gareth Neame, Fellowes and BAFTA and Emmy winner Liz Trubridge.
Coming back for part 3 is Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michele Volpe, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, Douglas Reit AND Dominic West along with exciting new additions, Paolo Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, Arty Froushanand many others.
