Channing Tatum says he still hopes 23 JUMP STREET gets made, calling it ‘the best script I’ve ever read for a third movie’

Actor Channing Tatum (magical Mike, Foxcatcher, Logan Lucky, The oath, The hateful 8) has been in tons of fun movies over the years, including some successful sequels. But one film series he never managed to finish was the third highly successful film in the series 21 Salto Strada franchising.

The first two films were huge successes for Sony Pictures, and the third film was in the works more than a decade ago, however, in December 2014, a series of events interrupted the project’s progress.

Leaked Sony emails revealed that the third Jump away the episode was supposed to be a crossover with the Men in black franchise, tentatively titled MIB23. Although at some point he found a director, MIB23 never made it past the development stage and the Jump away the franchise was blocked indefinitely.

But Tatum doesn’t give up hope. Speaking with ComicBook at Take me to the moon press conference, Tatum addressed what had been rumored for some time Men in black X 21 Salto Strada crossover, saying, “There’s a project that was written and it’s still the best script I’ve ever read for a third movie.” His Take me to the moon co-star Scarlett Johansson then asked Tatum, “What happened?”

He replied: “It’s just a lot of bureaucracy, stuff that’s a little over the top. It’s really hard to do and we’re trying.”

The last tangible one MIB23 the impetus was eight years ago. Giacomo Bobin (The Muppets) signed on to direct the threequel in 2016 with production expected to begin in June. The cameras never started rolling.

But if ever there was a time to remake sequels years later, this is it. We’ve seen so many franchises revived, and often quite successfully.

Hopefully, if this script is as good as Tatum claims, we’ll see it happen sooner or later.
