Apple TV+ has released a trailer for its upcoming family series titled Myselfwhich is described as “a cinematic coming-of-age story” about a boy with superpowers.
The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Ben, “who grapples with middle school (complete with bullying, crushes, and school dances!) while adjusting to a newly reunited family AND the realization that he has superpowers.
Over the course of the series’ ten episodes, “Ben embarks on a journey of self-discovery and learns what it really means to have superpowers. He finds an ally in his half-sister, Max, who helps him harness these powers and uncover the secrets behind the mysteries and tragedies of his community… all while trying to come to terms with what it means to be Ben.
The series was created by the screenwriter Barry L. Levy (Advantage point) who is also the showrunner. The series is the protagonist Lucian-River Chauhan in the role of Ben Vasani, Abigail Pniowsky as Max Davis, Dilshad Vadsaria in the role of Elisabetta Vasani, Amanda Reid like Carter Kennedy, and Jessy Yates as Morgan. Guest stars include Kyle Howard like Phil Davis and Sharif Atkins as Darren Kennedy.
The series doesn’t seem like anything special, just another one of those uninteresting stories about someone with superpowers. But maybe some young audiences out there will enjoy it!
The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on July 12, 2024.
