Tom Hardy wants to participate in Peaky Blinders film currently in development by the creator Steven Knight for Netflix.
During an interview with Sky News, Hardy said: “Alfie 100% will definitely make an appearance, but I don’t know when… and I don’t even know if he will, it was just me who was betting.”
It appears Hardy’s character Alfie has been killed off Peaky Blinders Season 4, but then he came back for Season 5 and Season 6. It seems like it would make sense to bring him back for the movie, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
The film will see Cilian Murphy return as Tommy Shelby, and commented on this by saying, “It feels like Tommy Shelby wasn’t done with me… It’s very gratifying to be able to re-team with Steven Knight AND Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.
Knight has spoken about the film in the past, saying: “The film, I know exactly what it’s about. And I know which two stories it will tell. What happens next, I want it to depend on the film. For all we know someone will turn up, I think I know who it will be.
Knight also recently shared and updated, saying, “It’s going to happen in September. I’m just doing the finishing touches, which will continue until the day before we start shooting. But here we are.
“We have everything sorted out, we have all the commitments we need, we are ready to go. I think the film will still be a step forward, and it will be great that Peaky fans can come together in one place and watch it.
“The budget will be bigger, but also because we know that we are closing this chapter, we will all try to do our best. Cilliano [Murphy] it’s really up to the mark. So I can’t wait for filming to start.”
The film will be directed by Tom Harper (Heart of stone). THE Peaky Blinders the film does not yet have a release date.
