Apple TV+ has released the trailer for Natalie Portman AND By Moses Ingram Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series Lady in the lake. This is a dark thriller based on By Laura Lippman novel of the same name.
The series is set in the 1960s and is described as a “feverous noir thriller and an unexpected story about the price women pay for their dreams.” This sounds like an intriguing and disturbing series.
In the series, “When the disappearance of a young girl grips the city of Baltimore on Thanksgiving Day 1966, the lives of two women converge on a fatal collision course.
“Maddie Schwartz (Portman) is a Jewish housewife trying to shed a secret past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson (Ingram) is a mother navigating the political underbelly of Black Baltimore while struggling to provide for her family.
“Their disparate lives seem parallel at first, but when Maddie fixates on Cleo’s mysterious death, a chasm opens up that endangers everyone around them.”
The project was created by the director Alma Har’el and the rest of the cast includes Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelmann, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison AND Pruitt Taylor wins.
The series debuts with two episodes on July 19.
