Director Shawn Levy is playing a whole new game of moviemaking with Marvel Studios and Deadpool and Wolverineand recently spoke about his experience making the film and whether or not there are any deals to come back for Deadpool 4.
During a recent interview, the director was asked about the possibility of returning to the helm of another Dead Pool film, and even if this is an answer he doesn’t have, he says it Deadpool and Wolverine it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Levy said: “I usually have to lie. I wait for questions when I have to lie and pretend I don’t know the answer, but this one I can honestly say I don’t.”
He went on to add, “But I can, in the same breath, say, ‘Man, this thing was the hardest, most challenging thing I’ve ever done. But it was also the most creatively rewarding.”
The director continued: “Because with Deadpool there are no rules. It is, in its very DNA, built on tonal audacity. So, for a director, what a pleasure. And to do it with my best friend Ryan, my other friend Hugh.” , the three of us who have known each other for a very long time now, it was just fantastic.”
“Because if you’re working with friends, you don’t mind looking like an idiot. And if you’re working on something comedic, you better be willing to fall on your face,” he concluded.
One thing I know for sure is that Deadpool and Wolverine will be a huge success and Marvel and Disney will want to continue raking in the money with more Deadpool movies. We can only hope that as they continue to produce these films, they ensure that the standard of quality remains high.
Levy recently said he would like to make a Deadpool and Spider-Man movie, which would be something awesome!
Levy said: “The thing about Deadpool is that I think it makes everything more interesting because of its audacity. But, man, I would definitely like to see Deadpool and Spidey. It’s a movie I would love to make. I feel like Tom Holland it would go around everyone else.”
I would love nothing more for this to be the next Deadpool movie! What do you think about the future of the Deadpool film franchise?
It’s pretty crazy to think back to the franchise and how 20th Century Fox avoided it for so long, and would have continued to avoid it if the concept trailer hadn’t leaked, which led to fans demanding it.
