Anthony Michael Hall talks REACHER season three and his evil character

Antonio Michele Sala (Bosch: legacy) is set to take on the role of the main villain Reacher Season 3. He will play Zachary Beck “a formidable successful businessman”.

Beck is “a widow and single father of a 20-year-old son, Richard. He is the owner of a carpet importing business that Reacher and his colleagues suspect is a front for a far more nefarious operation.

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Hall talked about his character and shared some details about what fans can expect to see from him.

Hall explained: “The character is Zachary Beck and, on the surface, he’s like a wholesale drug kingpin. But the truth is, it’s a front; it’s a cover for something a little seedier.

“The introduction to this third season is that Reacher basically saved my son’s ass. He gets beat up by what we think are a bunch of townspeople, but ultimately he’s a dirtier bunch of people.

He went on to talk about how the series will set up his character, saying, “In the first episode, you see my son – played by Johnny Berchtold, a really talented young actor – getting beat up in town and Reacher comes in to save the character. Day like Reacher does .

“Reacher comes in, kicks some ass, saves the day. From that moment my son Richard says to him: “Look, you should come and talk to my father.” He can help you, maybe put you to work,’ which led me to hire Reacher.”

Hall went on to talk about the working relationship between Beck and Reacher, saying, “I don’t want to say much more than that, but basically the story is this: this father-son dynamic.

“But then there’s this whole issue of Zachary Beck and who he represents to Reacher. Reacher will work for him, but as you know he’s kind of a double agent. He’s still working on this whole thing.

“There’s an excellent actor called Brian Tee, who will also be a part of this season. His character comes out of the shadows and you realize that the two of us have dirty relationships.

“It will lead to a larger story that my son will be involved in and further connected to, if that makes sense.”

The third season is based on Lee Child novel PersuaderReacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held captive by a disturbing enemy from his past.

In the story: “Jack Reacher lives for the moment. Homeless. Without obligation. And with a burning desire to right wrongs and rewrite one’s agonizing past. DEA Susan Duffy lives for the future, knowing she made a terrible mistake by placing one of her agents in a deadly trap inside a heavily guarded Maine mansion.

“Putting a brilliant ruse, Reacher hurtles into the dark heart of a vast criminal enterprise. Trying to save an agent whose time is running out, Reacher enters a crime lord’s waterfront fortress. There he will find a world of secrecy and violence and deal with some unresolved business from his past.

Reacher Season three is currently filming in Toronto. The show is written for television by Nick Santora, Reacher is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios.
